On November 28-29 Orange Fab joined DefCamp - a must-experience for cybersecurity enthusiasts and one of the most significant conferences in Central and Eastern Europe. This time, the event was hosted at Sala Palatului in Bucharest, offering not only a platform to explore cutting-edge security measures but also opportunity to enjoy one of Europe’s most renowned historical landmarks.

The conference was organized across three main tracks: Track 1 was held in Rosetti hall, Track 2 - in Bratianu hall, and Track 3 - in Balcescu hall.

How it Went

The 2-days schedule gave attendees a rich learning experience, covering areas such as red and blue teaming, incident management, infrastructure security, cyber warfare, ransomware, malware, social engineering, artificial intelligence, and both offensive and defensive security measures.

The Hacking Village competitions continued to be a central activity, allowing participants to test their skills in realistic scenarios. In addition, one of the highlights was the Lock Picking Village, where attendees learned and practiced the art of lock picking in a controlled, educational environment. Participants faced challenges to pick through locks of increasing difficulty within a set timeframe, with prizes awarded to the top performers.

Over the years Orange is proud to support and participate in this massive conference. This time, our involvement was highlighted by the opening pitch delivered by Florin Popa, Business Director at Orange Romania, and a keynote presentation "Was it something we said? Volunteer-fueled group attacks pretty much everyone" by Ioan Constantin, our Cyber Security Expert.

In addition, the Orange Fab startups Arcanna.ai, Dekeneas, Spectro:o and CyberEdu were part of the Orange booth, showcasing their solutions.
