Telesenior

About

Nowadays, many seniors live alone while their children work in other cities or abroad, with no reliable way to know whether something has happened — a fall, a medical emergency, or simply a day without a contact. The hardest part of this scenario is not the distance itself, but the uncertainty of not knowing.
Telesenior addresses this problem as a Romanian tele-assistance and technology-enabled care platform for older adults and other vulnerable people. It combines continuous monitoring through a wearable IoT device with real human intervention from a 24/7 assistance centre, a web platform for operators, and a mobile app for the beneficiary’s family — a single ecosystem connecting seniors, their families and care networks.

Solution

How it works: the beneficiary wears a 4G/LTE GPS pendant with an SOS button and automatic fall detection. When an alarm is triggered — manually or automatically — a human operator answers in under 30 seconds, assesses the situation following European tele-assistance protocols, and escalates to the family or the 112 emergency service as needed. The family follows location, alerts and history in real time through the Telesenior app, while operators manage every case from a dedicated dashboard. Weekly companionship calls complete the service, addressing isolation as well as emergencies.
Beyond families, the same management platform is built for professional care — social workers and home-care services. By combining human care with technology, it makes monitoring objective rather than subjective: every alert, call, visit and intervention is logged and timestamped, so care is measured against real records instead of memory or self-reported activity. For home-care services, Telesenior also offers additional easy-to-place devices that need no construction work and track the beneficiary’s activity both indoors and outdoors — steps, time spent active or inactive, and daily routine — turning everyday wellbeing into objective, continuous data. Telesenior is therefore not only a device for families, but a coordination and oversight tool for professional care networks.
