    What is an API?

APIs, or Application Programming Interfaces, are a set of rules that allow software programs to communicate with each other regardless of their manufacturers, architectures, or programming languages.

Network APIs - is APIs for a network i.e., a group of connected devices that can communicate with each other.

Through API one application can request data or services from another: the API receives the request, gets the data from its system, and sends back the result. This makes APIs essential for developers, as they allow them to integrate features (payments, weather—into, geolocation, etc.) in their applications without building everything from scratch.

APIs available for the first time in Romania

    • SIM Swap - detecting recent SIM card changes, essential for preventing SIM-jacking fraud or interception of authentication SMS messages.
    • KYC (Know Your Customer) Match – verifying user identity by matching data entered in an application with information validated by the network operator.
    • Geofencing – creating virtual zones and receiving automatic notifications when a device enters or exits a defined perimeter.
    • Device Location Verification – confirming whether a device is in a specific location without using GPS, based solely on mobile network data.
    • Device Reachability Status – determining a device’s connectivity status (online via data or SMS, or offline), important for sending critical notifications.
    • Quality on Demand – temporary prioritization of network traffic for a specific application or service.
    • Population Density Data – access to anonymized data regarding population density in a given area.
