We're supporting Make IT in Oradea for its second year - applications open for Bright Labs Incubator
Bright Labs Incubator launches this month for its second edition. The technology startups incubator is developed by Make IT in Oradea and created at the initiative of Oradea City Hall and ADLO SA, together with local companies Smartware, Paymo, Mobiversal, Helion, RO et CO International, and national partner Orange Romania.
What did the first Bright Labs Incubator entail?
Bright Labs Incubator is designed to support ambitious entrepreneurs to bring their idea to market within 6 months. The structure of the program is designed to provide validated knowledge from successful startups, mentoring relationships from successful entrepreneurs and experts in various fields. There is also the benefit of support from an active community of technology entrepreneurs.
35 teams applied for their startup idea in the first edition, 22 were selected in the pre-incubation stage, 8 were accepted to the Bright Labs Incubator program, and 3 received funding totaling €115,000.
At the end of January, the Bright Labs Incubator Gala brought together 10 teams to present their startup to the audience. All graduates of the program are now part of a community where they will receive support from mentors.
What's new in Bright Labs Incubator 2022?
The program is six months long, split between the pre-selection phase, validation phase and incubation phase.
The pre-selection phase is in full swing and consists of pitch events. These are:
- Bright Labs Pitch Nights Oradea - 24 February, online [registration is open here].
- Bright Labs Pitch Nights Cluj - 3 March, online
- Bright Labs Pitch Nights Expats - 10 March, online
- Bright Labs Pitch Nights Timisoara - 24 March, physical
- Bright Labs Hackathon - 8, 9 April
The best ideas move on to the next stage - the validation stage, which starts in April and consists of a series of workshops to help participants validate their problem and solution and design their first prototype. The selected teams from this stage move on to the next stage and receive a prize of €5,000 to be used in the development of the idea.
The incubation phase starts in June and will run until the end of September. Teams benefit from workshops, events and one-to-one mentoring sessions structured to address the different needs a startup has to go to market.
