5 startups join Orange Fab after winning the 5G Online Challenge

We're happy to announce 5 new Orange Fab startup collaborations with ClarK Vision, INTERACT, MobileControl, Streamerse and Telios Care, winners of the 5G Online Challenge. The contest, dedicated to entrepreneurs and product developers that build products based on the 5G & IoT technologies, took place during August 27th and November 24th 2020, and the winners were selected during a pitching session that was livestreamed on Orange Romania's Facebook page.

After a series of 1 to 1 meetings with Orange experts and mentors, that took place over the course of the two months, 8 startups were selected to pitch in front of the 5G Online Challenge jury.

The jury that included Emmanuel Chautard – CTO Orange Romania, Pierre-Etienne Cizeron – CMO Orange Romania, Mircea Barroso – Head of B2B Marketing Orange Business Services, Bogdan Chiriță – Strategic Partnerships Manager Orange Business Services and Bogdan Ștefănescu – Product Manager New Business Orange Romania chose five winning startups, that will enter the Orange Fab acceleration program:

ClarK Vision – smart-glasses and augmented reality platform that helps companies offer specialized remote assistance.

INTERACT – project that implements traffic management functions, using a low latency mobile edge computing network, to support V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communication and thus ensure traffic safety and efficiency.

MobileControl – through the Active Building Control product, develop an ecosystem for smart real time control of energy and environmental parameters for workspaces.

Streamerse – platform that allows event organizers to engage their audience in live events, to monetize video content and benefit from the marketplace effect.

Telios Care – virtual clinic that aims to develop new functionalities to their client's benefit using 5G capabilities, as well as to expand their business regionally.

During the event, Valeriu Filip (SecurifAI), Radu Motișan (URADMonitor) and Costin Raiciu (Correct Networks), founders that are already part of Orange Fab, talked about their perspectiv on the new 5G and IoT technologies, in a panel moderated by Vlad Andriescu, editor-in-chief start-up.ro.

Through the Orange Fab program, rin intermediul Orange Fab, apart from the support to further refine their products and bring these to clients, the 5G Online Challenge winners will get access to Hub Pass, Orange's 5G labs and to a range of equipment, platforms, APIs and connectivity options that contribute to Orange Romania's 5G and IoT ecosystem:

  • Equipment and connectivity in the Orange 5G network [1]
  • Access to 5G resources and platforms developed in Horizon 2020 research projects SLICENET, MATILDA, 5G-EVE and 5G-VICTORI
  • Connectivity through dedicated IoT communication networks (LoraWAN or LTE-M) and access to Live Objects, Orange's secured IoT platform for connected objects and data management
  • Access to Orange API's like Wi-Fi Smart City Data Feed or Anonymized Cyber Security Events
  • Access to Orange Business Services' cloud solutions, Flexible Engine and Flexible Computing

In the 5G Online Challenge final, presented by Monica Obogeanu, Startup Programs Manager at Orange Romania, other three startups presented their 5G and IoT solutions, that will also get further support through punctual activities:

City Air – platform that ensures, through a network of sensors, real time air quality monitoring in schools and aims to develop recommendations for public policies.

City Dock – network of smart charging stations for electric scooters, with a universal and patented design.

IoT4Nature – through the Smart Waste Management product, develop a platform that integrates sensors that transmit in real time information to support efficient city waste management.
